And of course the Baie de Somme also excels when it comes to fantastic markets where you can stock up on fresh regional produce. St-Valery hosts some of the best, on Wednesday and Sunday mornings, and also on Friday evenings in July/August.
It’s also in St-Valery that you’ll find the Herbarium, a secret garden on the site of an old nuns’ hospital garden on the battlements of the old town, where old and rare vegetables are grown alongside aromatic and medicinal plants.
