Roubaix – Lille’s Soho Haute-Style Roubaix is a suburb likened to Soho, situated just 20 minutes by tram from the center of Lille. Diverse, full of character and attracting a wide range of people. Roubaix’s Maisons de Mode project brings together several boutiques, some – such as Le Grand Bassin – in the loft-style Le Vestiaire. Its aim is to support new designers helping revive Northern France’s textile industry. They include jeweller Justine Clenquet, popular with the likes of Lady Gaga. Come in May for the Marché des Modes, with fashion and beauty workshops and DJ sets. Also here are premium/designer brand outlets McArthurGlen Roubaix and L’Usine, the latter in an old textile factory.
