Because they were taken down by troops rather than skilled restorers several holes had to be patched –around 100 holes had to be repaired in one.
War heroes
Back outside, take time to explore the exterior of the museum. It features medallions of important people some of which were damaged by a shell during WW1. Where it has been repaired, one of the medallions now features the image of a soldier.
The dedication of war heroes of many nationalities is still in evidence around the city today. Immerse yourselves in its history, together.
