Enjoy Chroma in Amiens
One of the best things to do in France this summer and a great way to educate kids about French cultural heritage, the son-et-lumière spectacle Chroma brings the sculptures and other features on the facade of UNESCO-listed Amiens Cathedral to vivid life using state-of-the-art projection technology, accompanied by narration and specially composed music.
This free event – a must-see if you visit France with kids – is a rare opportunity to admire the city’s gothic masterpiece as it would have looked in medieval times, painted in surprisingly bright colours. An elaboration of the long-standing Cathédrale en Couleurs show in more immersive form, the 50-minute shows begin at 10.45pm in June, 10.30pm in July, 10pm in August and 9.45pm in September.
Vibrant Amiens is perfect for spending time as a family, with lots of child-friendly places to stay and eat and an array of other attractions, from boat-rides along the canals of the Hortillonnages (floating market gardens) to learning about one of the most famous French writers at the Musée Jules Verne. Perfect for family holidays in France, Amiens has something to offer kids of all ages.
Amiens Cathedral light show dates: 14th June – 22th September 2024
