- The gardens of painter André Van Beek
Inspired by his native Hauts-de-France, painter André Van Beek began his career portraying local landscapes, from the banks of the Seine to Amiens’ hortillonnages.
Today Van Beek’s focus are the gardens of the property where he was born in 1947, in the tranquil village of Saint-Paul in the bucolic Bray Valley. Here the painter has arranged ponds, streams, cascades and other water features in a way that capture the morning light to full effect.
Visitors are free to wander the garden’s sinuous pathways, discovering en route artworks, gloriettes, old punts and a bridge,
from May to October, or by appointment the rest of the year.
