- Go green at the lush "Journées des Plantes": a flower show in Chantilly - 17th - 19th May 2024
Major events in Northern France, the Journées des Plantes in Chantilly are ideal for those looking to reconnect with nature while spending time together.
Majestic in its own right, the parkland surrounding the Château de Chantilly - familiar to many as a location for the Bond movie A View to a Kill – comes to particularly vivid life each spring and autumn when it hosts the Journées des Plantes in Chantilly.
This unmissable event showcases more than 200 of the most prestigious nurseries and other exhibitors in Europe. As well as giving you the chance to get away from routine in a natural environment, the events are a chance to learn about plants, garden trends and biodiversity both through the displays and via a busy programme of workshops, talks and product launches.
What to see and do in and around Chantilly
Chantilly is a wonderful place to indulge in some French art de vivre, in wonderful venues including the Michelin-starred Auberge du Jeu de Paume, a Relais & Châteaux hotel, and La Capitainerie within the castle grounds themselves – a great spot for trying authentic Chantillly cream and other regional cuisine.
No visit is complete without a tour of the château itself, home to the superb Musée de Condé – an art museum with a pre-Impressionist collection second only in France to that of the Louvre in Paris – as well as to evocative imperial apartments with period decor.
And close to Chantilly, don’t miss the a stroll around the Etangs de Commelles with their romantic lake and forest paths.
