- Travelling to France after Brexit
No major changes for Brits who will still want to travel for tourist purposes to Hauts-de-France, and this as soon as it is deemed safe by the UK government.
No major effect including on administrative issues:
1. VISA: no visa required, the passport will suffice. The length of stay must not exceed 90 days accumulated per period of 180 days: non-binding
2. DRIVING LICENSE: obtaining a European driving license only costs £ 5.5 and can be delivered by your local post offices in Great Britain: non-binding
3. TRAVEL INSURANCE: Britons will be covered by their European Health Insurance Card until it expires. The new GHIC card (free to obtain) offers equivalent protection to holidaymakers, students and business travellers when travelling in the EU. It is recommended to apply at least two weeks prior departure. non-binding
4. TRAVELING WITH YOUR PET: need a UK passport for the animal (and no longer a European passport which will no longer be valid) + the animal must be microchipped (already required before 2021) + a vaccination certificate (vaccine 21 days before travel). It is advisable to make an appointment with your vet 4 months before departure to ensure the compliance of the papers / procedures: binding
